30+ years of helping people and technology get along

Walter van Lieshout

I help technology work for you — and teach you to run it with confidence.

For more than 30 years, it's been my privilege to help organizations — and the people in them — feel confident with technology: network engineering, technical support, automation, and AI. What I enjoy most is seeing a tool finally work for someone instead of against them. I'd be honoured to bring that same care to your team.

How I can help

One friendly hand for all of it

Most organizations can't afford four specialists — and shouldn't have to. I bring thirty years of experience across communications, websites, technology support, and the quiet coordination behind the scenes, so your team has one dependable person to call on for all of it.

📣

Communications & Content

Clear, engaging content that reflects organizational values. I write plain-language documentation and training material, and I build and maintain my own website from scratch.

Website & Digital Platforms

Updating sites, managing online forms and resources, and integrating platforms so information flows instead of sitting in silos.

About

Rooted in Campbell River — here for my community

I was ten years old when my family moved to Campbell River in 1973. A long stretch in Vancouver followed, but Campbell River is where my heart kept pulling me back — I came home for good in 1997, and it's the community I love serving. For more than 30 years I've done one thing I love: making technology and administration work for real people. IT systems management, business operations, coordination, and practical automation — always with patience and plain English, never jargon.

I'm the person who troubleshoots from the command line one minute and helps a colleague feel comfortable with their tool the next. Technology should be approachable — that's how I've tried to work every day for three decades, and it's a feeling I like to share.

Above all, I care about the people doing the day-to-day work of supporting their community. If I can make their day a little easier — that's a good day.

How I like to work

  • Service that lifts people up
  • Equity and inclusivity, for everyone
  • Good relations with the community at large
  • Clear communication and patient support
  • Technology that saves time instead of adding work
  • Respectfully learning the culture and context I serve
